Mrs Brooks

Hello, I’m Mrs Brooks and I have been teaching here at George Street since 2019.  I bring nearly 20 years experience working with children and nothing makes me happier than being greeted in the morning by our pupils.

I have worked all over foundation stage in my time here and I love watching the children learn and challenge themselves in all areas of their learning. I especially enjoy being in the cooking station where we have made all kinds of healthy meals, and a few tasty treats!  We have very creative and enthusiastic children here at George Street and it’s amazing to see their confidence grow at trying something different or coming up with new ideas. It’s a pleasure to be there in the moment, to support these ideas and help to each child to reach their full potential.

I love being a HLTA, it means I get to teach in several classes where I get to see lots of lovely learning and have many engaging conversations with all the children.  I’m a huge fan of music and I’m always playing Disney songs in the background of the classroom and I usually get told off for my singing!

I have recently gained my Level 2 in British Sign Language so have been sharing my knowledge with the children through everyday language and songs.  It's really important to encourage inclusivity and the children are so supportive of this.

Outside of school I’m usually curled up on the sofa with a hot chocolate and a book. I love to bake and eat far too much cake! I enjoy going for long walks near the coast with my husband and two children. Being at the beach is my happy place at any time of the year. I’ve lived in Wales for a few years now after relocating from Bristol and I’m still discovering new, beautiful places to explore and go on adventures.
