Mr Taylor

Hi everyone, I am Mr Taylor. I have worked at George Street since qualifying as a teacher in 2014 and have had various roles during this time; I have taught in both Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2, but mainly KS2.

I have previously led the Health and Well-being AoLE with Mrs Williams, but am very excited to be leading Literacy with Miss Thomas this year. Literacy is an area of the curriculum that I am incredibly passionate about teaching as I believe good literacy skills are the key to unlocking all other areas of learning. I love to read and enjoy being creative and experimenting with words when writing. I really hope to instil the same passion for the English language in the children that I teach this year.

I am also very passionate about outdoor learning and was recently very fortunate to gain funding to establish an allotment area for our school. I can’t wait for our children to be able to use the fruit and vegetables that they have grown to cook with and eat at our cooking stations.

George Street is a wonderful school to work in because of its fantastic pupils and staff who work together tirelessly to make sure that we all reach our full potential and have fun doing it.

In my spare time I socialise with friends and can usually be found in a restaurant eating my favourite pizza and pasta dishes. I often go to the theatre to watch a play or a musical and love a trip to London for the weekend.

I would like to take this opportunity to remind you that if you ever have any questions or queries, I am always around at the end of the day, so please do not hesitate to pop in for chat.
