Mrs Ralph

Hi, I’m Mrs Ralph. I have been teaching at George Street Primary since qualifying as a teacher back in 1993. During this time I have taught every year group from nursery to Year 6. I genuinely love working at George Street, both teaching and working alongside you as their parents. In fact, there are now many children that I taught during my first few years here who are now bringing their own children to school! It’s good to see you all coming back through our doors a second time around.

Within the school I am the Acting Deputy Headteacher and have responsibility for the coordination of Additional Learning Needs (ALNCo), which is my greatest passion. I have been coordinating ALN for approximately 20 years and have a Masters degree in this area.

As applies to all teachers at George Street, I have an open door policy so please come in for a chat if you have any concerns regarding your child. As a school we work alongside many outside agencies including the Educational Psychology Service, Outreach, the health service, Speech and Language Therapy service, the Hearing Impairment Service, Families First, counselling services… the list goes on. We have adopted a Pupil Centred Practice approach (PCP), which puts the child’s needs at the heart of the ALN process. Parental views and experiences are a key factor in this approach, as is the involvement of all people who are important in the child’s life, both in school and at home.

When I’m not teaching I love to spend time with my family, most of which is spent either following one of my daughters around the country to watch her play water polo, or taste testing everything that my youngest daughter cooks and bakes. I also enjoy running and have completed 4 half marathons and 2 full marathons. However, I have to say – never again!
