Mrs Preston-Watkins
My name is Melissa Preston-Watkins and as well as working in the Year 3 / 4 team I am the PE and sport co-ordinator. I have worked at George Street since 2009 after a long career with Nationwide Building Society. I thoroughly enjoy all aspects of my job role and am privileged to work with such wonderful and talented children who love the wide range of different types of physical activity on offer to them. There is no better feeling than seeing the children smile, grow in confidence, achieve their potential and grow into team players.
I am also proud to serve on the school governing body as a staff representative. The role is extremely rewarding and it is an honour to work alongside such committed and passionate members who are responsible for working with the school to ensure delivery of high quality education, a clear vision and ethos and a caring and welcoming environment for all pupils. I hope in some small way, I am able to steer our wonderful school positively through the challenges that lie ahead in the ever changing world of education.
When I am not at school, I am usually pitch side enjoying watching 2 out of 3 of my boys playing football while the other is currently playing football across the pond in America. Being out in the fresh air enjoying the outdoors and travelling with family and friends is also what I love to do in my spare time. I enjoy posting pictures of the children I teach during lessons and at tournaments on my school Twitter page and would love it if you followed @GeorgeStSport
