Mr Brasington

I am very fortunate to be the headteacher of George Street Primary since September 2018.  Working with our wonderful children and our enthusiastic team of staff and governors keeps me on my toes every day and makes my job constantly rewarding.  

I am sure that, like me, you will be impressed by the positive atmosphere in our school whenever you visit. As headteacher, it is my aim to nurture and sustain this so that we continue to support and inspire our young learners well into the future.

I first became a teacher to do exactly that.  Two decades down the track my ambition remains as clear and I am just as excited about providing opportunity to all our young people to thrive.  Nothing is more satisfying than bringing out the best in others and it’s this simple goal that I look forward to every day.  

You will see me around the school during our open events or at the school gates during the week to greet our pupils and families so do please say hello.   We are a welcoming school that truly feels it is “together we live, learn and value”.

When I’m not working, I will probably either be ferrying my children to Ebbw Vale for swim training, walking with my family or setting myself up for a new day by running alone in the quiet of our beautiful local hills.
